Chapter Eight

Later on in the evening everyone was on the guys bus after some arranging, a little more begging of certain people, and people just plainly giving in. Laura didn't want to go on the bus at first all do to the fact that JC was going to do his best to screw things up in the bet they had made. She was truly enjoying the whole bet and everything about it. There was something about competition that drove her to agreeing to the bet.

On the other hand, she actually felt bad for Natalie, Justin, and Lance mainly because they had no clue what was going on. Even though Lance probably wouldn't care, Justin sure would and Natalie didn't seem like the type that would be so happy about it, but JC and Laura really didn't care at all.

At that moment, everyone was finally settling down, considering it was almost one o'clock in the morning and everyone had had a busy day. Chris was sleeping up in the front of the bus with a bag of chips laying right beside him and some movie still playing. Across from him on the other side of where he was sleeping peacefully sat Lance who was reading papers on some business thing that he was looking into.

In the back was where everyone else was at the time, all sitting in various spots watching the fifth movie since they all agreed to ride on the guys bus to Albany. On one side of the bus on a couch sat JC, then Natalie, and beside Natalie was Laura.

Wade stood up from the other side of the bus and grabbed the DVD out of the player and put it back in the case. "Do you guys want to watch another movie?"

Natalie shrugged and looked at JC who nodded his head. "I guess, what should we watch now?"

Justin, who was already looking at what they had pulled one out and handed it to Wade. "Let's watch this, it's a great movie, trust me."

Wade looked at it and then held it up to the other three on the other couch and smiled when he saw Natalie's look of disgust. "I don't want to watch The Karate Kid or whatever that is, that movie is so old."

JC turned towards Natalie and shook his head. "It's not an old movie, and besides, it's a good movie anyways." Then he turned to look back at Wade. "Let's watch that."

"Well, I don't care what we watch, but I don't want to be standing here all night waiting for you guys to decide."

Laura looked right beside her to see another stack of DVD’s. She continued to look through them, but when she didn't find what she wanted, she looked over at JC. "Do you guys have the Scream set?"

JC shrugged slightly and looked at Justin. "Do we?"

Justin rolled his eyes and turned his head away to mumble under his breath. "I hope not."

Laura stared right at Justin until he turned towards her. "What did you say?"

"Not a thing."

"I don't know if you know this, but those movies are a classic. The first one is absolutely wonderful, and the second one didn't really do much for me, but most of that was made up in the third one. You have no reason to insult those movies, they are the funniest movies you could ever watch."

Justin gave Laura a look reading 'what the hell are you thinking' "Are you serious? How can THOSE movies be funny? They are SUPPOSED to be scary? Are you high right now?"

"No, I'm not, and they really are funny. Think about it. Think about everyway that the characters died. It was funny. Do you know why? I bet you don't Timberbaby. It's because they all died because of some dumb move they made when the door was right there. Oh well, we don't have to watch that."

"Good, because we weren't. Oh, and yes, we do have them."

Laura's eyes rolled and she looked at Natalie. "Do you want to watch Scary movie?"

Natalie shrugged. "I don't know. We've watched 3 funny movies, one romance type, one scary, and one action, I don't know if I want to watch another funny movie."

"Then what do you want to watch?"

Natalie looked over at the stack by Laura and began skimming through them briefly by looking at the titles. At the very bottom there was one movie that Natalie did want to watch, and when she saw it she jumped up and snatched it. "Let's watch this."

Laura looked up at Natalie who was about to put the DVD in the player. "What is it?"

"Nothing... It's a good movie, don't worry."

"Well, if you have GREAT taste like Justin, then it's probably the shittiest movie that ever hit the box office."

Natalie shook her head. "No, it's a good movie."

"What is it?"

"My Bestfriend’s Wedding. It's like the bestest movie on earth. Julia Roberts is like the best. There is not better than her, and I'm serious. So, in conclusion, we WILL watch it, right? I haven't had a pick on a movie yet."

Laura rolled her eyes and slouched down in the couch. "You picked the last movie, I say let's watch the Fast and the Furious."

JC stood up and grabbed the Fast and the Furious DVD. "This is a better movie, let's watch this one."

Natalie sighed and put My Bestfriend's Wedding back down. "Fine, I guess it would be alright. Paul Walker looks nice in that movie, and so does Vin Diesel. I guess it's worth it, but I haven't seen My Bestfriend's Wedding in forever, and uh, can we PLEASE watch it?"

JC sat back down with his elbows on his knees and his hands gripping at his now messed up hair. After only about 10 seconds of thinking, he slammed his head back and looked over at Laura with a grin of pure evilness spread across his face. She stood up and put her finger up. "Don't do a thing."

JC lifted his shoulders, making his look as innocent as he could, but little did he know, she read straight through it. "Whatever are you talking about?"

"Like you don't know."

JC cleared his voice and then turned to shout past the bunks to where Lance was. "Hey Lancey buddy, we're putting in a movie, do you want to watch it with us?"

Lance set everything down and leaned over to glance at JC briefly. "What movie?"

"Just come back here, you know you'll love it."

Before Lance walked back, JC turned to Natalie and smiled. "My Bestfriend's Wedding is Lance's favorite movie, so of course we'll watch it. I'm sure he'll want to watch it with us and you, since YOU want to watch it."

Laura sat back down beside JC and sighed. "You make absolutely no sense, I hope you know."

Lance entered the back part of the bus and stood there with his hands in his pockets. "So, what movie is it?"

JC smiled and went right along with answering his question. He was loving this, and he knew there was know way Laura could stop his plans now. "Oh, I don't know.. Oh wait! It's your favorite movie, My Bestfriend's Wedding?"

"Oh."

"You just love that movie, right Lancey boy?"

"Well, not..."

JC stood up and clapped his hands along with an interruption to cover up the fact that Lance wasn't that big of a fan of the movie. He respected the actors and actresses, but he didn't really like the storyline. "Great, let's put it in!"

Natalie put the movie in and started it up. After that, she sat down beside Laura and JC on the one couch while Wade and Justin took up the whole other couch. Lance looked around and coughed loudly to get everyone's attention. "Um, can I sit down?"

Laura smiled. "Just go drag a chair, or a beanbag or whatever from the other room in front of this one."

"I really don't want to move everything around and trash the bus or anything. Besides, I have..."

JC pushed Laura off the couch and patted the spot where she once sat. "Here, sit here Lance. It's already warmed up, just thank Laura. She even said it was ok."

"It looked like you pushed..."

"Not a word, the movie's starting."

Lance shook his head, gave up, and just sat down beside Natalie. Laura, who was still on the floor eventually stood up and looked down at Wade who was lounged in the couch. "Do you want to scoot over?"

Wade looked up and smiled. "No, not really."

Laura sighed and then turned back towards Lance and Natalie. With a quick move, she sat down right in between them and put her arms around them. "Well, let's watch this movie!"

JC leaned over and looked over at Laura. "What are you doing?"

"Getting comfortable so I can watch this damn movie, unlike you who is still worrying about specific things that shouldn't mentioned or acted upon now because you're a loser and you're going down and there's no way that you're going to win, so just give up now, and go to bed or something."

"You are still caught on me losing aren't you?"

"Yah, basically."

"Well, I'm not going to."

Lance looked at the both of them and stood up. "Am I intruding on something?"

JC smiled and pulled Laura closer to him. "Go ahead, sit back down."

Lance sat down beside Natalie and Laura while JC grasped Laura's arm so she couldn't go anywhere. "Hah, who's winning now?"

"No one."

"Sure..."

Laura punched JC's leg so he would let go of her and then looked back at him. "There haven't been any kisses yet, or anything like that, so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you."

Justin looked over at Laura and JC who were still carrying on about the one thing that no one on the bus at that moment knew about besides them. "Would you guys shut up? We're trying to watch the movie."

Laura shrugged. "Too bad."

Justin looked around the room before standing up. "Not like I wanted to watch this movie."

"No one cares Justin."

"No one asked for JUSTIN's opinion."

JC rolled his eyes. "Maybe because no one WANTED your opinion, did you ever think of that white boy?"

"At least my hair is neat."

"No it doesn't. You should shave it again, give Natalie a break."

"She's only done my hair once, it doesn't matter."

"She doesn't like it, or you."

Justin shook his head. "And you know this?"

"Of course I do."

"Anyways, back to the problem that NO ONE asked me if it was ok to watch this movie..."

JC shrugged and yawned on that note. "Still no one really cares either, just sit down and shut the hell up. No one wants to hear your bickering and complaining."

"You know, what will you do if I die right now from some instant blow--"

Laura rolled her eyes. "What, from aliens or something?"

After a few giggles, Justin hmphed and glared at Laura. "No, not aliens. Besides, my point was, what if I die right now, you'll all live with it the rest of your life that you didn't let me pick the movie before I died, and you'll feel bad. I won't let you come to my funeral-"

Yet again, another interruption escaped Laura's lips. "No one would anyways."

"I'll ignore that. ANYWAYS, I'll haunt you for the rest of your lives and--"

Natalie growled and stared at Justin. "Would you shut up? This is like the best part!"

"It's still at the beginning dummy."

"I don't care!"

Justin sat back and leaned on the back of the couch letting his neck settle in just the perfect spot to his head was facing the ceiling where he just stared into space thinking about how nice it would be if everyone left the room except for Natalie.

He still hadn't figured her out, and that was going to be one of his goals.

JC stood up and gave a loud yawn. "I'm going to go to the bathroom, I'll be back."

Laura smiled. "Take your time dear."

"Oh of course..." When he was out of her sight he coughed. "Not."

Laura stood up and crept slowly towards the bathroom door and grabbed a pipe of some sort that was sitting against the wall and she put it across the handle in such a way that JC wouldn't be able to open it. After that, she opened some drawers with convenient things in them and pulled out a thing of masking tape and taped the bar so it wouldn't move as easily. It wasn't duck tape, but it still would work to some degree.

Laura then walked back to the room where everyone was still sitting and she looked down at Lance. "I hope you know that is my favorite spot on the couch."

"What's so wonderful about it?"

"It's in the middle, and I happen to like the middle."

Lance, totally confused, scooted over so Laura could sit down.

All of a sudden, interrupting the movie, everyone heard little yells from JC. "LAURA, WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU? You're a BITCH!"

Laura smiled and looked back at the TV. Everyone looked at her as she continued to watch. When she didn't respond to anyone staring at her, Wade stood up and grabbed her arm and pulled her out towards the bathroom, where JC was still locked in. "What did you do?"

"Nothing..."

Wade looked down at Laura and gave her a fake half smiled. "Seriously, what did you do?"

"I'm serious, nothing."

Wade looked back at the bathroom door, and saw the bar with all of the messy tape around it. "Did you do this?"

Laura shook her head. "Actually, I saw Chris out here with tape and-"

"Take it off, I don't even want to hear it."

"But I didn't!"

Wade smiled and hugged Laura to his tall, lean frame. "Just take it off."

"Fine." Laura turned around in his arms and took the tape off. As soon as everything was removed, she broke out of his arms and ran to the couch and sat in between Lance and Natalie.

When JC and Wade returned, Wade walked over and grabbed Laura's arm. He continued to walk, dragging her with him to the couch where he was and he plopped her down beside him. "Calm yourself and relax."

Laura looked up at him and poked her lip out with begging eyes. "I don't want to..."

Wade leaned down briefly kissed her forehead before sitting back to watch the movie with a smile. "You don't have a choice."

Laura sat back with her arms folded and glared at JC who sat down by Lance who was now forced to sit by Natalie. She continued to watch as JC stretched and scooted over, trying to get comfortable in his own words, but he was just squishing Natalie and Lance together.

When it almost looked like Natalie was going to be choked, she stood up and went over to the couch Justin, Wade and Laura were on and sat down on the floor right beside it. JC sighed deeply and looked back at the TV to see where they were and then looked down at Natalie. "Why don't you sit on the couch?"

She turned around to reply to JC. "Because, you guys were squishing me."

Lance put his attention to the conversation that just started. "I'm sorry Natalie, maybe I should go and get back to work on what I was doing..."

JC stood up and blocked Lance's way. "No, you should watch the movie with us, you weren't doing anything wrong, trust me."

Laura looked over at what was going on and smiled innocently at Lance. "You don't have to watch the movie, besides, I'm absolutely sure you have better things to-" Laura was stopped by a pinch she felt on her side. She looked over at Wade, and glared before continuing. "You were busy earlier, so maybe we could all watch a movie next time, we'll forgive you."

"Thanks for understanding Laura."

Then JC smiled back at Lance. "We won't forgive you, you really should stay and watch the movie, besides, it's your favorite!"

Lance shook his head and pushed past JC. "No it isn't."

"Trust me, I think I'd know."

When Lance left, JC sat back down on the couch, as well as Natalie. At the moment, Laura blocked out the whole movie coming up with her next plan. Looking at Justin, who was still surprisingly watching movie, she came up with what she wanted to do. Slowly she slouched in the couch and leaned towards Wade and closed her eyes.

He felt her head lean against his shoulder and slowly his arm wrapped around her. "Are you tired?"

Laura nodded her head against Wade's shoulder and she smiled. "Yah, I think maybe I should just go to bed."

"Well, you, me and Natalie are going to have to sleep back here tonight. I'll take the floor if you want."

"Yah, right, that's nonsense, we aren't starting that again."

Wade smiled and hugged Laura to his body and looked back at the movie. Laura leaned over and looked at Justin. "Hey buddy boy, it's getting late."

Justin turned to give his attention to Laura. "And your point is?"

"I'm tired, and I kinda wanted to lay down."

"And where will I sit?"

Laura pointed towards the empty spot by Natalie and then looked back at him. "Right there. There's a good spot for you to sit, don't you think?"

Justin shrugged and looked over to see that JC scooted over so his body was covering two thirds of the couch. "Um, JC is sitting there."

Laura looked over and glared at JC before returning to her conversation with Justin. "Well, just ask him to move, please? I'll leave you alone all day tomorrow."

"I doubt that would ever happen, but I'll move anyways, only because I'm nice. Remember that the next time I ask you for something. I could have easily stayed here and let your back and neck cramp up from falling asleep and then you would be in pain all day tomorrow and--"

"You're really running that 'ol mouth of yours tonight, aren't ya?"

Justin stood up and sat down in between JC and Natalie. When he sat down he smiled over at Natalie. "Well hello, I haven't been able to talk to you tonight..."

Laura watched carefully as Justin practically made her job ten times easier with the casual talk when Lance didn't even attempt to say one word to her.

Justin's smile grew into a charming grin that he was always proud of. "You really did make our hair look nice today, I just want you to know that, and you are now part of our family, so don't be nervous about anything. You're probably one of the most important people when it comes to shows and photo shoots and making videos and all of our appearances."

Natalie smiled back and tucked her hair behind her ears. "Thanks, I guess, I thought I screwed up Lance's hair, but that's alright."

JC leaned over and smiled at Natalie. "Lance said himself that no one else on earth could have done a better job, he said, I can't wait until we get to Albany because he claimed his hair never looked as good."

Laura glanced over at JC and mouthed the words 'what a lying suck up you are'. When he caught on to what she mouthed, he mouthed right back at her 'at least i don't have to lock someone in a BATHROOM'."

Laura gave up with mouthing the words and she just glared at JC. "Yah, well, at least I don't have to FORCE someone in here!"

JC looked right back and started up again. "You know maybe I should take this up with--"

Wade held his hand up and shook his head. "Not now, please."

Laura smiled at JC and then cuddled into Wade's side making her seem even more innocent and she mouthed, 'sorry' to JC in her honest act instead of her trying to make JC feel like shit act.

JC shrugged and sighed before looking back at the screen.

By that time, Wade scooted over and Laura laid down on the couch beside Wade with his arms around her. Sure, as kids they cuddled up like that all the time when it got late and they were tired, but as they got older it stopped and since the tour started and they had to share a bed the one time, the cuddling turned into nothingness.

By the time the movie was over, Laura opened her eyes and looked over at Natalie who was now leaning on Justin and sleeping. Along with that, Justin was fast asleep with his arms around Natalie. Then she glanced down the couch to find that JC left and probably went to the bunk.

Looking at the picture of Justin and Natalie on the couch right then gave her even more confidence in winning the bet.
