Chapter Two

Natalie sighed deeply, still trying to get a grip of her surroundings. After being around for the guys for a very short amount of time, she started to feel more welcomed. It wasn't that bad now that she thought about it. The tour was going to be fun. Being on the road with these five crazy guys would be the most entertainment she'd have in a long time. She looked back over at Laura. "So, are you going to come on tour with them or anything?"

Wade, who was listening intently, pulled his chair closer and put his elbows on his lap and rested his head on his hands and looked over at Natalie. "Yes, she is."

Then Wade looked over at Laura. She just sat there and sighed. Sure she wanted to go, but not enough to waste time and actually do it when she could be starting something in Orlando. "I don't know what I'm going to do.."

"Please?"

Laura moved a piece of Wade's hair that looked like it was bothering him and moved it back with the rest of the spikes and glanced at it before giving a deep sigh. "I don't know..."

Natalie looked at Laura and shook her head. "I don't know if I'd want to go on tour with these monkeys, if you want to, I say go for it, and besides, you could keep me company."

"I was thinking about starting college or even just moving down here away from California to live with my parents, but I was considering putting it off a year, even though I've been getting accepted to good schools and stuff..."

Wade lowered his head and sighed deeply. Laura got closer to him and lowered her head so that he would see her and so she could whisper. "Wade, I said I'll think about it..."

He raised his head and his shoulders slumped. "Well don't think about it too much, you might not come then, and this tour might be awfully boring with out ya."

"I know."

"You keep telling that to yourself."

Natalie scratched her head looking at the two and listening intently to the conversation.. "Um, right..."

Laura sighed and looked back at Natalie. “Don’t ask, he's being a baby."

Natalie smiled at Laura. "I wasn't going to, you guys are weird enough already., I wasn't going to intrude or anything, not worth my time."

When Lance walked in the door Natalie laughed as Chris walked behind him with an armful of candy. Natalie stood up and crept over to Chris. She walked behind him and saw a symphony bar that was in his arms. She reached her arm over quietly, and snatched the symphony bar as Chris continued to walk. Natalie ran over to Laura and sat down and opened it up. "Ahh, love symphony bars."

Laura laughed to herself. "Hah."

Wade smiled at Natalie. "You're going to fit in just fine."

Lance stood in front of everybody and threw a can of pop to JC. "There ya go." Then he gave one to Joey. "And there you go." He then opened one for himself and took a sip before putting it on the floor. Then he walked over to Wade and Laura and gave Wade two so he could give one to Laura.

Then Lance threw a can at Chris who was sitting on the floor with his candy like a little kid. The can landed in the middle of his candy mess and he pouted. "LANCE, You broke some of the m&m's!!!!!"

"Aww, too bad.."

After walking over and giving a can to Johnny, Lance had two cans left. Justin walked over and sat at the table where Laura, Wade, and Natalie were sitting. He shouted back to Lance who was now by Chris who was in the middle of the floor.. "Hey, giddy up over here and give me my POP!"

Lance rolled his eyes and pouted his lip. "I don't want to, you come get it."

"I don't want to, I just sat down and I'm being lazy today. I'm tired."

"So cry about it a little more why don't you."

Justin sighed. "Just give it to me."

"Maybe.."

Justin looked at him and demanded. "Now.."

Lance walked over to the table where the four of them were sitting and he smiled at Natalie with an evil gleam to the smile and he held the pop in front of Natalie, teasingly. "Thirsty?"

Natalie nodded her head. "I know that this is the first day that I'm with you guys and the first time y'all met me, but if you don't give me my pop I'm going to stand up and kick ya ass."

Lance stepped back and put a hand to his heart acting as though he was hurt. "Ooh, a threat?"

Natalie stood up and walked closer to him and gave him a dirty look before Lance backed away even more. "I'm not going to mess with you."

Natalie sat back down in satisfaction. "Exactly."

Lance carefully walked over to Natalie and gave her pop to her, trying to avoid her biting him possibly or harming him any other way, shape, or form. Natalie smiled kindly. "I wasn't going to bite you, it was just a fair warning."

Justin glared at Lance after Lance handed Natalie a pop. "Ahem." He glanced at Natalie. "NO offence to you." Then he glared back at Lance. "But you gave everyone, including Natalie their pop before me? No way bud."

"Aww, Justy want his pop?"

Justin's eyes rolled on instinct. "Uh, yah, now"

Lance held it above his head and smiled. "Aww."

"Give it to me Mississippi boy."

"What's up with all of the threats lately, shame shame everyone, and I mean it."

Justin stood up and looked at Lance. "Pop, now, please? No, not please, just give me my damn water."

"Ooh, potty language, I think I'm going to cry Juju and you're the baby of the group, the supposedly INNOCENT one, the kind, heart throb that everyone either wants or just wants to be like." Lance shook his head. "I think you just failed all of your fans, shame."

"In that case, let me kick your ass before cry."

Natalie stood up and glared at Lance. "I'll help, trust me on that one. Not a good first impression Lance, you don't tease a thirsty girl with pop."

Justin smiled back at Natalie as she sat down. "That's all right."

Justin glared back at Lance and put a hand out. "Pop?"

Lance rolled his eyes and put the pop behind his back and shook it up and then brought it up to Justin's face. "Here, take it. I don't want it anyways."

Justin grabbed the pop and sat down with satisfaction. "Finally, pop."

Carefully, he placed his fingers on the top of the can to pull the little metal part back just enough to open the can. When the can opened, to his surprise, the pop went all over his hands and onto his pants to where it dripped on the floor also, but it didn't to get on anyone else. Lance had shaken up the can so good that it even splashed up just enough to get a little bit in his curls. At that moment, Justin looked at Lance with red in his eyes. "You...little..."

Lance looked at a wall, making sure Justin couldn't see the smile and interrupted him. “Ah ah ah, don't say a word, not if you're going to be nasty about it. You wanted the pop, and guess what, you got it."

"I’m going to kick your Mississippi cow roping ass."

"We don't rope cows Justin..."

"Whatever."

Chris looked over at Justin who was soaked in pop. "Aww, poor Timberbaby got his pop all over him, didn't mommy ever tell you not to shake the cans before you open them?"

"You're a little rat."

Chris smiled as he searched through his candy mess to find a wrapper that shined just right in his eyes. "Do do do do do, symphony bar, where areeeee youuuu? I'm huunnnnnggyyy."

Wade rolled his eyes. "Maybe you wouldn't have such a hard time dancing if you would stop eating candy."

When he thought he saw the bar, his hand dove right down like a snake getting its prey. When he brought his hand up, he only found a crunch bar instead, and at the sight, his lip automatically pouted like a little baby. "Where's my symphony bar? I got one, I know I did, and I had it too."

Natalie grinned evilly and pulled out the candy bar from her purse and broke a piece off to give to Laura . "Wow, these are good."

Chris heard the noise of the candy wrapper and he looked over at Natalie who was thoroughly enjoying the candy bar. "What is that?"

"Oh, just a little symphony bar..." Natalie held up the wrapper just high enough for Chris to see and she grinned with complete evilness in her eyes.

Chris crept closer to Natalie and looked at her with jealous eyes, knowingly of where she got the candy bar. "Oh, and where did you get that little symphony bar?"

"Um.. I don't know."

Looking at Natalie like she was his own prey, Chris stood up and tried to sneak over to go get the candy bar back. When Chris was about a foot away, he looked at Natalie straight in the eyes. "Oh Natalie..."

Natalie smiled back just as evil. "Oh Chrissy poo."

Chris pouted his lip and snatched the symphony bar wrapper away and he stared at it with sorry eyes. "I'm sorry you had to be eaten by such a meanie weeny." Then Chris looked at Natalie and pouted his lip again for about the tenth time that day. "You ate my symphony bar, and I'm not Chrissy, and I'm not poo."

Natalie stuck her tongue out and moved her head full of attitude. "Maybe you are..."

Wade, who was sitting right by Natalie, rolled his eyes as he observed all of the people talking and turned to Laura to ignore Natalie and Chris, and also to achieve a new goal. "Well, we'll talk about you coming on tour later, ok?"

Laura smiled up at Wade. "If you want to."

Wade stood up and smiled. "Of course."

Laura then stood up and checked her watch. "You might wanna get these boys moving again."

Wade looked at her watch and nodded. "Yah, that would be smart, eh?"

Laura nodded her head. "Yep."

Wade leaned down and hugged Laura to him, causing her to stand up with him. "Well, just to let you know again, I want you to come, and you're allowed to, and besides, I don't think I'd be able to go that long with out ya."

"You're such a suck up, you've gone that long before."

Wade pulled away and shrugged. "Anything to get you to come..."

Laura hit his shoulder playfully. "Well, go shake that thing out there now, ok? I'll be watching, and thinking, unfortunately, I will think about it, just for you."

"You're weird."

Laura shook her hips playfully and sat down. "You should take notes."

"From who, you're mom?"

"Wade, that's so overused.. and no, me." Laura paused and then looked at Wade straight in the eyes, hoping for an honest answer. "Question."

"Shoot."

"Why are you going to go on the tour anyways?"

Wade shrugged. "I don't know, I wasn't going to... last minute thing I guess, I'm not needed on the tour, but I mine as well go anyways, since I also am directing it, it's not that bad of an idea to go, but normally, yah, I wouldn't want to go, I'll just postpone everything else I was going to do."

Laura smiled warmly. "Alright, well, you know, you don't have to go..."

Wade shrugged and sighed. "But I'm going to, and you're coming with me."

"Wade, you need to stop! You have more important things to do right now and if you keep whining, I guarantee that I am not going to even think about it, I'll just go home now and veg, like I plan on doing for a while if I don't go."

"But, you're the most important thing to me right now..." He pouted.

Laura rolled her eyes and crossed her legs. "Yeah, and you sucking up isn't going to get you anywhere."

"I just want you on this tour so bad. You'd be my only sanity, especially with these guys, and Natalie isn't going to be any better. Look at how well she's fitting in already."

Laura raised her eyebrow slightly, smiling. "I wouldn't be so sure about that, I'm not good for your sanity..."

"Please say you'll come?" His eyes lowered as well as his body, and he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her back up, and closer to him.

"Wade, you know I'd love to, but this requires a lot of thinking. I mean, it'll be a few months away from home. And I'll be on tour with five of the hottest guys in the world. Major thinkage there Something I really would have to consider, it might be bad for their health if I come."

"Correction, 6 of the hottest guys."

Laura hit her head playfully. "How could I forget about Joey's brother. Steve is such a great guy, man I'm losing it! Dumb me."

He buried his head in her hair as he tightened his grip on her waist. "Please Lolo?"

"I said I'll think about it Wade.." She pushed away from him a little. "You need to get to work. I saw them guys dancing earlier and they need some major attention, and I mean that when I say that, I'm not normally one to insult their dancing, but today is especially bad." Laura noted as she saw some of the guys practicing.

Wade's forehead rested against hers, and he gave her a sad face for extra convincing. "Really think about this Laura. It could be fun, it could be really fun."

She smiled, pushing him again. "I might, if you just go away!"

He kissed her cheek, before turning to walk away. He looked back at her winking, and then jogged over to the stereo. He clapped his hands together and whistled loudly. "Calling all skinny white boys."

Justin groaned, standing to his feet. "You said half an hour. It's only been 20 minutes."

Chris patted Justin's shoe from where he sat on the floor, and smacked his lips together hungrily as he devoured another Twinkie. "That counts me out. Have fun Timberbaby."

Justin kneeled down, grabbing Chris' arm and yanking on it fiercely, bringing him to his feet. "Come on Fatty, I go, you go, as simple as that."

Chris rubbed the red mark from Justin's grip and his lip began trembling. "That hurt, you big fat meany, that was so mean, you don't do that to kind, generous people like me."

"I wouldn't be calling me fat." Justin challenged, punching his shoulder.

"You're such a jerk." Chris whined.

"Ouch that one hurt."

"Eat shit and live."

Justin stopped, almost looking thoughtful for a second, before he smiled in triumph as though he'd figured something out. "Shouldn't it be eat shit and die?"

Chris nodded, patting Justin's shoulder. "You catch on fast, little one."

"Well then, why did you say live?"

Chris shook his head and went on to explain the simple concept. "Its simple. If you die, then Nsync is no more and if Nsync is no more, than I am poor."

JC, who was standing there just listening, butted in. "Yah, and that means I'm poor too, and I don’t' need to be poor, not now."

Justin nodded in understandment and looked at Chris with a pure look of shock that he actually thought about something before saying it. "That's very thoughtful of you Chris, even though all of us have enough money to live for the rest of our lives without getting a job."

Chris grinned. "Thank you."

JC rolled his eyes at the two and sighed. "Let's just go and get this over with."

Laura shook her head at the three as they caught up with the rest of the group. She turned to where Natalie was standing by herself, watching the guys intensely. She jogged over to her, tapping her shoulder. "Hey Nat."

Natalie shook her head, falling out of her trance. "Oh, hey Laura. What are you doing?"

"Nothing.. Just coming over here to see why you were staring at the guys?"

Natalie's face turned red with embarrassment. "Oh.. Sorry if that weirded you out. I just kind of like to observe new people and kind of see what they're like. Ya know, sort of like, getting to know them without really getting to know them."

Laura nodded her head, pulling her medium lengthed hair into a loose pony tail. "Um, yeah, right."

"I figured you'd be lost."

Trying to think of things to say, Laura stumbled and just brought up the night that was coming soon. "So, um, are you coming to that dinner thing tonight? For the tour premiere?"

Natalie nodded her head. "Yeah, definitely. It sounds like tons of fun, although I have no clue what I'm going to wear. It will be a really nice opportunity to get to know the guys better and to get to know more people that will be on the tour."

Laura shrugged and folded her arms. "They aren't that great to get to know, trust me. In fact, they aren't worth your time, they're just going to steal your food, and your stuffed tigers, and oh, poor little thing."

Natalie gave Laura a confused look. "Uh, yah, ok."

"They took it, and, and, they ruined it...Oh well, that was a few months ago, I'll get over it."

"All of them took part in that?"

Laura shook her head. "No, just that rat bastard, Chris, he makes me so mad."

Natalie's head cocked to the side not expecting to hear something like that about Chris already. She could tell that the boy had issues, but she didn't think anyone else would come out with any anger while talking about Chris. Sure the guys would at times, and she would expect that. "Aww, I'm so sorry."

"Yah, and then he took my thing of Sprees candy things ugh, he's so dang greedy!"

Natalie nodded her head, just going along with Laura's complaining, not to sound rude or not caring. "Wow, that's really mean, I tell you, if anyone did that to me, I would bite their heads off, no stopping me."

Laura turned her head to Natalie and she raised her eyebrows. "Can you be anymore sarcastic?"

A grin tugged at Natalie's mouth that came naturally with the little shrug. "Yah, I could, but I wouldn’t want to piss anybody off on the first day that I'm here. That wouldn't go over too well, would it?"

"Whatever you say girl."

"How long have you known the guys?"

Laura shrugged and looked over at Wade, who was instructing the guys on something. "I don't know, probably like the second time Wade went to see them. I seriously don't remember the first time he dragged me along with him to see them."

"I'm guessing you've met Britney too then."

Laura nodded her head and took a sip out of her drink. "Yah, I met her probably the third time he had to go see her to do whatever for the tour and stuff. She's actually very nice, it's kind of surprising. A lot of people don't like her, but they really don't know her I guess. I don't have anything against her personally, so I can't hate her."

"True. I don't appreciate her clothing though, it really gets to me."

"Well, anyways, new subject."

"Seriously, that subject bothers me sometimes."

Laura looked around and then back at her watch. "It's getting late already, we've been here for a while. I didn't even notice it."

Natalie looked over at her watch too and sighed quietly. "I should probably go and get ready, or possibly just do other things. I always have things to do."

"You're going to leave me here all by myself?"

Natalie leaned down, grabbing her bag and smiling apologetically at Laura. "Sorry. I have to get ready and all, besides, I should probably go and try to find something better to wear than what I own. There are plenty of stores around here, I'm sure I can find something quickly."

"It doesn't start for another three hours! Besides, I can loan you something to wear if you are that desperate."

"I have things, but I want something new that I can wear to a couple of other places, possibly just going out, you know? Sometimes people just need to go out and get a new outfit to make them feel better. I'll see you tonight though, right?"

Laura nodded. "Of course. Wade wouldn't go with anyone else."

"Alright. Bye Laura! See you there."

Laura waved. "Bye Nat." She called after her.

Natalie walked past the guys who were watching Wade demonstrate a new move. Lance looked over and broke away from the group.

"Hey! Where are you going?"

Natalie checked her watch again and smiled. "I'm going home to get some things done."

"You're coming tonight, right?"

"Yep. Wouldn't miss it."

Justin noticed Lance missing and turned to see him talking to Natalie. He nudged JC who was still watching Wade. "How come Lance is always trying to hit on girls he won't get? This is real pathetic, the show is starting real soon, and he's pissing around. He's gonna scare her on her first day."

"Whatever you say man, whatever you say.?"

Justin glanced over his shoulder at the two again and shrugged. "Well, if he messes up his dance moves real bad on the first night, I think I'll flip out."

Jc shook his head at Justin and then looked back at Wade. This tour was going to be interesting. They'd only known Natalie for a few short hours, but he could already tell that her being on the tour was going to play a big part in all of their lives; he just wasn't sure exactly how she would fit into it at that moment.
